Chiropractic

Ensuring your body is functioning at its best

We know how important it is to be able to get back to your normal activities as soon as possible, whether it is getting back to work, or training if you are an athlete.

Chiropractic is an effective, dynamic, drug-free method of treatment to deal with musculoskeletal complaints which often lead to pain and misery.

Our aim is to reassure you, you are not on your own, we deal with back, neck, shoulder and other joint problems, every day and coupled with years of experience you can be sure you are in good hands. We pride ourselves in providing a thorough and professional examination to create an individually tailored treatment plan undertaken within a calm and relaxed setting.

Chiropractors often use gentle, specific adjustments (the chiropractic word for manipulation) done by hand, to free stiffened joints and remove spinal nerve irritation. The treatment may also include mobilization, ultrasound or interferential therapy, stretching or strengthening of soft tissue and various other techniques to ensure that you are feeling well again as soon as possible.

In May 2009 the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) published its guidance to the NHS in the case of early management of low back pain which recommended, as one option, a course of manual therapy, including spinal manipulation, spinal mobilisation and massage.

Rehabilitation is vital in making a successful recovery. We don’t believe in simply giving you a generic sheet of exercises to struggle with at home. We show you how you can improve your specific complaint through rehabilitation and strength work to give you the best possible chance of being pain free into the future.

Many people choose to have chiropractic treatment periodically to simply keep themselves moving and functioning well.

Katherine Jassar DC BSc. (Hons) BSc. (Chiro)

Katherine began her studies at Kings College London in 1999, gaining her degree in Biomedical Science, specialising in physiology and neurology. Having decided to apply for graduate entry into Medicine, a slip and injury to her back, took her into a chiropractic clinic.

After receiving wonderful care and making an astonishingly quick recovery she decided she wanted to make a real difference to people’s lives in this way, and went on to study for a chiropractic degree instead of Medicine.

“I really enjoy my job. I see patients come into the clinic on a daily basis, in pain or discomfort, and I get to make a real difference in their lives. I see patients improve and do things they thought they could never do again, put simply, for me this is the ultimate in job satisfaction.”

When Katherine created the concept behind Kings Road Clinic, she knew how important an experienced multidisciplinary team striving for the very best in patient care, was.

“I wanted to create an environment where patients felt comfortable and relaxed, less ‘clinical’ and more ‘home from home’. A modern clinic where the staff were friendly and approachable, where the practitioners work as part of a highly skilled team; and most importantly, where the patient is all important. After all you are an individual, not a number.”
